Terms
Terms of Service
A clear place to start.
Last updated: October 30, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Guitar Jamz Inc. ("GuitarJamz", "we", "us") about our website (new.guitarjamz.com, and guitarjamz.com as it moves there), members.guitarjamz.com, app.guitarjamz.com, our emails, downloads and checkout (the "service"). Please read them. Our Privacy notice explains how we handle your information.
If you had an account before October 30, 2026, these updated terms apply to you from November 30, 2026; until then the terms you agreed to before apply, except that anything in these terms that is better for you applies at once. For anything you bought before October 30, 2026, the promises on the page you bought it from also apply where they give you more.
Important: the section “Resolving disputes and arbitration” asks you and us to resolve most disputes by individual arbitration, not in court or in a class action, unless you opt out within 30 days. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, that section does not apply to you, and nothing in these terms takes away rights your local law gives you as a consumer.
1. Agreeing to these terms
You accept these terms when you create an account, sign in, buy something or use the service after seeing a notice that links to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Some offers have their own conditions, shown on the offer before you buy (for example a guarantee period or a deadline). Those conditions are part of these terms; if they conflict with these terms, the offer's conditions apply to that offer.
2. Who can use GuitarJamz
You must be at least 16 years old; by creating an account you confirm that you are. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may buy something only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms for you.
You may not use the service if you are barred from it by the laws of the United States or where you live, including if you are in a country or on a list subject to US sanctions.
3. Your account and signing in
You sign in with a link or a 6-digit code we email you, or with a sign-in provider such as Google or Apple. There is no password, so your email account is the key to your GuitarJamz account: keep it secure, and do not share sign-in links or codes. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at once at support@guitarjamz.com if you think someone else has used it.
Give us an email address you control and keep it up to date. If you bought from us before 2026, sign in with the same email you used then, so your purchases follow you.
4. One account per person
Your account and everything in it are for you personally. Do not share your account or sign-in links, resell access, or let others use your downloads. A multi-seat purchase gives each seat to one named person. We may limit the number of devices, sessions or downloads, and we may end access that is shared or abused (see “Suspending or closing accounts”).
5. Free membership
A free account is free for good and never asks for a card. It includes what we say it includes when you join, such as starter lesson series, the lesson of the week, selected jam tracks and previews of locked lessons. We may change what the free membership includes from time to time; we will never charge you for it without your clear agreement.
6. Buying courses, memberships and other products
Before you pay, the product page and the checkout show what is included, how long access lasts, what it costs, any renewal terms and the guarantee. That is what you buy. Checkout and payment are handled by Shopify for us; the amount is charged in the currency shown, with any taxes the law requires.
Courses you buy are yours to keep: you can watch them for as long as you have an account and the service runs (see “What ‘for good’ and ‘lifetime’ mean”).
Lifetime membership is a single payment for access to every course in the library, including courses we add later, with nothing that renews. It is for the life of the service, not of a person. Lifetime membership does not include products we sell separately, unless its offer says so.
Lifetime membership is no longer sold to new members from October 30, 2026. Every existing lifetime membership continues as these terms describe.
We correct errors in what a page says. If we show the wrong amount and you have not yet paid, we will tell you the right one and you can decide. If you have already paid, we may cancel the order and refund you in full, or you may keep it at the correct amount.
7. Subscriptions and automatic renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. A subscription (for example monthly or yearly) is charged at the start of each period to the payment method you gave at checkout, at the rate shown when you subscribed, unless we tell you of a change as described below. Before you pay, we show the rate, how often you are charged and how to cancel, next to the button you use to choose the plan, and you agree to the renewal by choosing it.
Reminders. We email you before a renewal: about 7 days before a monthly renewal and about 30 days before a yearly one, with the date and how to cancel.
Changes. If we change the rate of your subscription, we will email you between 7 and 30 days before the change applies, and you can cancel before it does. A rate we promised to keep for as long as you stay subscribed stays the same until your subscription ends.
Pausing. Where we offer a pause, it stops charges and access for the period shown, and the subscription restarts afterwards unless you cancel.
8. Cancelling
You can cancel a subscription online at any time, from Settings → Membership in your account, which takes you to your subscription in our store account, or by emailing support@guitarjamz.com with "Cancel" in the subject line. Your store account shows the cancellation at once; write to us if you would like it confirmed by email.
When you cancel, you will not be charged again. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, unless you ask for a refund under “Money-back guarantee and refunds”.
If you ask us to delete your account, we cancel any subscription as part of the deletion, so nothing renews afterwards.
9. Money-back guarantee and refunds
Most of what we sell comes with a money-back guarantee. Its length is shown on the product page and in your receipt, and the date it ends never moves for you. To use it, email support@guitarjamz.com from the email on your account within that period; you do not have to give a reason. We refund the full amount to your original payment method, usually within 10 business days, and access to what was refunded ends.
Yearly Jamz subscriptions: email us within 90 days of paying for the year, including a renewal, and we refund that payment in full. Monthly Jamz subscriptions have no refund for the current month, unless your local law gives you one (see “Your right to cancel in the EU, UK and Switzerland”); after you cancel, Jamz stays available until the end of the month you paid for.
Outside the guarantee period, payments are not refundable, except where the law requires a refund or where we decide to make one.
If you dispute a charge with your bank instead of asking us, access to what was charged may be paused while the dispute is open. Please write to us first: we usually solve it faster.
10. Your right to cancel in the EU, UK and Switzerland
If you live in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, you can withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason, by emailing support@guitarjamz.com with your order details. We refund you in full within 14 days of hearing from you, to your original payment method, and access to what was refunded ends.
Our money-back guarantee is in addition to this right and does not reduce it.
11. What "for good" and "lifetime" mean
When we say you keep something "for good" or have "lifetime" access, we mean for as long as you have an account and we operate the service, not for anyone's lifetime and not forever. Lessons may be re-edited, re-filmed, re-titled or replaced with equal or better material, and courses may be reorganized; occasionally we must remove a lesson, for example when we lose the right to show it. We will not remove a course you bought, or reduce what a lifetime membership covers, without replacing it with comparable material.
If we ever close the service, we will tell you at least 90 days before, by email, and make the downloadable materials of what you bought available to download during that time, unless events outside our control, including insolvency, prevent it.
12. Trials, gifts, discount codes and offers
A trial gives you more access for a number of days shown in your account. No card is asked for and nothing is charged; when it ends, your account goes back to what it had before.
A gift we send you (such as a jam track, a tab or a lesson) is for you personally, cannot be sold or exchanged for money, and may end on the date it shows. A discount or personal code works only for the person and product it was made for, once, until its end date, and cannot be combined with other offers unless its terms say so.
An offer shows its real end date. We do not move that date, and we do not invent deadlines.
13. Using lessons and downloads
The lessons, videos, tabs, ebooks, jam tracks, written lessons and everything else on the service ("content") belong to us or to our teachers and licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws.
While you have access, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to watch, read, listen to and practice with the content you have access to, for your own non-commercial learning, and to download and keep copies of downloadable files (such as PDFs and MP3s) on your own devices for that purpose.
You may play along with our jam tracks at home, and you may perform and teach what you learn. Our videos, tabs, ebooks and jam tracks themselves, or recordings that include them, may not be published, streamed, posted, used in public or paid work, or put into another product without our written permission first.
14. Rules for using the service
You agree not to:
- copy, share, sell, resell, rent, publish or redistribute content, downloads, sign-in links or access, except as “Using lessons and downloads” allows;
- record, download or capture streamed videos, or remove copyright notices or protections;
- scrape, crawl or bulk-download the service, or use content, or questions and answers from the service, to train or improve any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model or dataset;
- get around limits we set (such as download or question limits), use the service through automated means, or interfere with its security or operation;
- misuse our sign-up checks, free offers, trials, gifts, discount codes or guarantees, for example by opening several accounts to get them again;
- harass anyone, or send us or put into the service anything unlawful, harmful, misleading or infringing; or
- pretend to be someone else, or use the service in a way that breaks the law.
15. Jamz, the AI guitar coach
Jamz is an artificial-intelligence feature. Its answers, practice plans and lesson picks are generated by a computer model from our lessons and what you tell it. They are labeled as such and are not messages from Marty Schwartz, Brett Papa, Tim Pierce, John Konesky or any other teacher.
Jamz can be wrong. Its answers are general guidance for learning guitar, not professional advice of any kind. Check them against the lesson it links, which is the source to trust, and use your own judgment, especially about your body (see “Practice safely”). Do not share passwords, payment details or health information with it.
Each plan includes the number of questions or the usage it shows; free and trial accounts may have a small number of questions. We may set fair-use limits and change how Jamz works. Our staff may read a conversation you share as feedback, or one our systems flag as possible misuse, to keep Jamz safe and fix its answers. You keep the rights to what you type; you give us the right to use it to provide the service and fix its answers, as the Privacy notice describes, and never to train AI models.
Jamz has three paid plans, Plus, Pro and Max, each with the price and the questions and Jamz-made plans a month its page shows. To move between plans, email us and we switch you, so you never pay for two at once.
Where a page promised lifetime members free Jamz questions, they continue for as long as we offer Jamz.
Jamz is not available to accounts of people who told us they are under 16.
16. Practice safely
Playing guitar is physical. Practicing for a long time, too hard or with poor posture can cause pain or strain in the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders or back, and playing loud can damage hearing. Warm up, take breaks, keep amplified and headphone volume moderate, and stop if something hurts. Lessons and practice suggestions are for learning music, not medical advice. If you have a health condition or an injury, ask a doctor before you practice. You practice at your own risk.
17. What you send us
You own your notes, messages, answers and anything else you put into the service. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy and process it as needed to run the service for you and as our Privacy notice describes; this ends when you delete it or your account, except for copies we must keep by law.
If you send us a review or a testimonial and agree that we may publish it, you let us show it, with the name you agreed to, on our pages and in our marketing, and you confirm it is honest and about your own experience. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.
18. Other services we use
Parts of the service are provided by other companies, such as Shopify (checkout and payments), Vimeo (video), and Google or Apple if you sign in with them. Their own terms may apply to what they do, and we are not responsible for their services. Links to other websites are for your convenience; we do not control them.
19. Copyright complaints
We respect copyright and expect our members to do the same. If you believe something on the service infringes your copyright, send our copyright agent a notice with: your signature; a description of the work; where on the service the material is; your address, phone number and email; a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you own the copyright or may act for its owner.
Copyright Agent, Guitar Jamz Inc., 2033 San Elijo Ave Suite #254, Cardiff, CA 92007, USA; support@guitarjamz.com with "Copyright" in the subject line.
If we remove material you posted and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice as the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act allows. We end the accounts of repeat infringers where appropriate.
20. Changes to the service and to these terms
We improve the service all the time and may add, change or remove features. We will not reduce what you have already paid for except as “What ‘for good’ and ‘lifetime’ mean” describes.
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the service at least 30 days before it applies. If you do not agree, you can stop using the service and cancel any subscription before the change applies, and we will refund the unused part of a subscription you paid for in advance. Changes do not apply to a dispute we already knew about. “Resolving disputes and arbitration” explains how changes to the arbitration agreement work.
21. Suspending or closing accounts
You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account in Settings.
We may suspend or close your account, or end access to content, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect the service, our members or us, for example against fraud or account sharing. Where we can, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to fix it. If we close your account without a good reason, we will refund the unused part of what you paid. Terms that by their nature should continue, such as those on content and its use, copyright, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and disputes, survive the end of this agreement.
22. Disclaimers
We work hard to make the service accurate, safe and available, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms: we do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that you will reach any particular result, or that content, written material or automated answers are complete or correct, and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Some places do not allow these disclaimers, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits a guarantee we give you, or rights you have under consumer laws that cannot be waived.
23. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, neither we nor our teachers, licensors or service providers are liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from the service or these terms, even if we were told they were possible.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims about the service or these terms is limited to the greater of what you paid us for the product or subscription the claim is about, or one hundred US dollars.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for our gross negligence or willful misconduct, or for breaking a law that protects consumers, and they do not limit your rights as a consumer in the EU, UK or Switzerland.
24. If you break these terms
If you break these terms or the law, or infringe someone's rights through what you put into the service, and that causes a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim, including reasonable legal fees. This does not apply if you are a consumer in the EU, UK or Switzerland, except as your local law allows.
25. Resolving disputes and arbitration
This section applies if you live in the United States or anywhere else outside the EU, the UK and Switzerland.
Talk to us first. Most problems are solved by email. Before starting a claim, send a written notice with your name, your account email, a description of the problem and what you want, to support@guitarjamz.com with "Dispute" in the subject line. We will do the same if we have a claim against you. Both of us agree to try in good faith to resolve it for 60 days. The time limits for bringing a claim are paused during that period.
Arbitration. If we cannot resolve it, you and we agree that any dispute about the service or these terms will be decided by a neutral arbitrator in individual, binding arbitration, not in court, except as below. The arbitration is run by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules and, where they apply, its Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules (see adr.org). The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. The arbitrator can award the same individual relief a court could. The hearing takes place where you live or by video or phone, and claims under ten thousand US dollars may be decided on documents alone if you prefer. We pay the AAA filing, administration and arbitrator fees that its consumer rules assign to the business.
Exceptions. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either of us may go to court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property. Requests for public injunctive relief, where the law allows them, are decided by a court after the arbitration of any individual claims, and are paused until then.
No class actions. You and we may bring claims against each other only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective or representative action, and the arbitrator may not combine claims of different people, except as the mass-arbitration process below allows. If this class waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim goes to court, not to arbitration. A court, not the arbitrator, decides whether this paragraph is enforceable.
Many similar claims. If 25 or more similar claims are brought by or with the help of the same lawyers or organizations, they are administered under the AAA Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules, with fees as those rules provide, and the time limits for claims waiting their turn are paused.
Jury waiver. If a claim goes to court instead, you and we waive the right to a jury trial, to the extent the law allows.
Opting out. You can reject this arbitration agreement by emailing support@guitarjamz.com, with "Arbitration opt-out" in the subject line and your name and account email, within 30 days after you first accept these terms. Opting out does not affect the rest of these terms.
Changes. If we change this section, you can reject the change by emailing us within 30 days after it is announced; the previous version then keeps applying to you.
If any part of this section, other than the class waiver, is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. This section does not apply where local law does not allow it (for example in Quebec or Ontario).
26. Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that is not arbitrated will be heard in the state or federal courts in San Diego County, California, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.
If you live in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live.
27. Other terms
These terms, the offer conditions you accepted and our Privacy notice are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If a part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a term at once, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer these terms to someone else; we may transfer them to a company that takes over the service, and your rights under them stay the same. We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control. We may send you notices by email or in the service; you can send them to us at the contacts below.
We want everyone to be able to use GuitarJamz. If something on the service is hard to use with your device or assistive technology, tell us at support@guitarjamz.com and we will help and fix it.
