Your first four weeks

About 20 minutes a day.

  1. Week 1

    Pick your path

Tell us what you want to play and start the matching path: beginner, blues, acoustic or rock. Learn your first chords or riffs slowly.

  2. Week 2

    Play in time

Strum or riff along with a backing track. Slow it down whenever you need to; speed comes later.

  3. Week 4

Aim for your first song or solo

Put the pieces together over a jam track: a song on acoustic, a blues shuffle, or your first pentatonic lick in a solo.

Is it for you?

  • You want to learn blues, rock or acoustic guitar at your own pace

  • You like learning by watching a teacher play, slowly, up close
  • You need sheet music: we teach with tab and by showing you, not standard notation
  • You want live one-on-one lessons: these are video lessons

What you need

How you learn

Slowly first, then up to speed

Riffs and licks are taught slowly, then played at full speed, so you can follow the hands.

See the notes

Many lessons show the tab on screen as the teacher plays. No sheet music needed.

Jam tracks

Play along with backing tracks in the styles you are learning.

Step-by-step paths

Courses are put in order, from your first chords to soloing, so you never wonder what comes next.

Pick up where you left off

Your progress is kept on every device: web, phone or tablet.

Free videos on YouTube are great for a single song or lick. Here you get the whole path in order, slowed down, with jam tracks and your progress kept for you.

When you get stuck

  • Slow the video down and replay the part you are working on
  • Go back a step: every path shows what to learn first

Your teachers

Marty Schwartz

Blues, rock and beginner guitar

One of the best-known guitar teachers on YouTube. Marty teaches more than 30 of our courses: first chords, strumming, blues licks and soloing, with a lot of fun along the way.

Brett Papa

Rock, blues and shred

Known as Papastache, Brett teaches street-smart rock and blues: riffs, rhythm, tapping and tone, with plenty of feel and very little theory.

David Taub

Acoustic and the foundations

David teaches the foundations patiently: chords, strumming, fingerstyle and changing chords cleanly.
